Eastgate Primary School: About the School
About the School |
This building, which was founded in 1911, retains its traditional style. During the academic year 1988 / 1989 the interior was considerably re-modelled and modernised to a high standard, enhancing many of the original features. The school site is ideally placed for using many town and community resources.
Here we wish, in partnership with parents, to prepare children to become thoughtful caring people, who are able to contribute in a positive responsible and self-disciplined manner to the world they live in.

Through example and leadership we endeavour to create respect for and understanding of, moral values and tolerance, with an awareness of society and community involvement.
Our aim is to develop a caring, stable and industrious environment where each individual is able to work to his / her full potential.
We seek to provide through the experiences and opportunities of a broad based curriculum the full development of each child in literacy, numeracy and creativity with the ability to question rationally and to investigate at appropiate levels.
To those ends we encourage children to grow in confidence through taking a pride in themselves, their work and their achievements individually and collectively.
All our classes are arranged in mixed ability groups and in single year groups where possible. |
