I was born and brought up in the Lake District. Then spent some years in Lancashire and attended College in Liverpool to train as an Occupational Therapist.
We moved to King’s Lynn in 1978 with my husband’s job and my daughter and son were both educated in King’s Lynn.
My working career has always been in the NHS and I worked at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital from 1984 until I retired in 2003.
I became a school governor because I wanted to do something for the community and have been the Chair of Governors for five years. Being a governor is very satisfactory and the Governing Body we have at Eastgate works hard and is committed to the development of the school and the ‘very best’ for all the pupils and staff.

I have been a Community Governor at Eastgate since September 2007. I have two grown-up children and I work full-time at the College of West Anglia in the Apprenticeship department. I belong to Soroptimist International  and am currently President of the King’s Lynn club. In the past I have been a computer programmer, worked for the Citizens Advice Bureau and for a few years used to play piano for another school’s singing lessons and concerts ( a bit rusty now!).  As a governor, I have enjoyed learning about Eastgate Primary and, although I do not get into school during school hours very often because of my job, I am keen to support the Head Teacher and staff in providing a good education and a happy learning environment for the children. I chair the Curriculum Committee and also have responsibility for monitoring the progress in Reading throughout the school.

Hi my name is David Pemberton and my role on the school’s governing body is Vice Chair of the Full governing body and also on the Finance and Premises committees. My special responsibility is as the Health and Safety governor. A little about myself, I should probably think there are some of you parents out there know my name as I have lived in King’s Lynn most of my life and I probably went to school with you too! I currently work in the Path Labs at the QE Hospital and have done so for the last 21 years. I am married and my daughter Mollie is in year 5. I have recently been on a very successful residential trip with the school to Cumbria which I enjoyed very much. Check out the pictures on the Eastgate website!

Corin Child is a Local Authority (LA) governor. He is the chair of the finance committee. Corin is the vicar of St John’s, a church that the school often visits on special occasions (such as Christmas). Two of his children currently attend Eastgate. Corin enjoys playing football, taking photos and trying to grow vegetables (although not at the same time).
